CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM Several patients are already experiencing difficulties, or may be expected to do so in the future, as a result of irradiation of the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves. In general, radiotherapy of the brain results in cortical atrophy in a large number of cases [17].
