The second pilot wing was introduced in 1944. This was a gold G within a gold circle with light blue wings on either side, on a black background. Both of these were worn over the left breast pocket. Oddity When the regiment was the Glider Wing of the 11th Special Air Service Battalion. some men wore a RAF-type wing with a small V, with short lines emanating from either side within a circle.
