Her ``delusion'' that her insides were rotting was also an expression of her authentic self ± she knew that something was terribly wrong. To combat her very negative experience of herself, Ellen imagined that she had power over powerful people, like JFK and Oliver Stone. Power really means that she tried to convince herself that her ``I'' was not small and weak.
